Inside - Out & Outside - In is an exploration of disagreement between the inside and the outside - what we are hiding and what we are showing. What makes who we are and how we are shaped? The duo is weaving biology together with phenomenons of contemporary relevance, such as identity, reality and virtuality, into their exploration of the relations between the inside and the outside. How are we a result of our biology and structures of society? Is it really what defines who we are or are we defined by who we choose to be? In No. 1 Inside - Out is about our (rf. humankind) inside; The injected colours are visualizing our genetic manual. In contrast to the scraped off surface of No. 2 Outside - In, which shows how we can shape who we are, while the organic shapes are reminding us, that we actually only exist as modified objects.
The project is made in collaboration with ceramic artist Emma Gram Heegaard. Exhibited at Zoom With Your Feet (Make Friends) at Gallery Overgaden Project and Bespoke Agency in Copenhagen.
