Glas - museet for glaskunst

Transformation, Spatial Design and Wayfinding.

Ebeltoft Denmark, completed in 2023

Role: Project Manager and Designer

Description: Developed a new visual identity and interior design that enhanced the visitor experience and improved the working environment for both staff and visitors.

Outcome: Implemented a strategic interior design plan that integrated the storytelling of glass craft to create cohesive and functional museum spaces.

The rebranding of Glas - Museum of Glass Art included a name change and a new artistic vision, which I incorporated into the design of key areas such as the reception, shop, creative space, glass workshop, administration, and staff office. Through user involvement, observations, and spatial analysis, I implemented a welcoming and dynamic museum experience that reflects the needs of guests, staff, and volunteers in the new design.

The design strategy centers on glass craftsmanship, as evident in the selected materials, tactile qualities, communication, and local partnerships. The production process was also informed by sustainability principles, among other things utilizing deadstock textiles, third-grade wood, and refurbished furniture to ensure a conscious and sustainable design approach.
