I have been working with making a flexible common room for a experimental housing project, Søkvæsthuset in Copenhagen. The idea was to bring people together and make them want to spend most of their time in the common room. All kind of activities should therefore be possible. I designed portable tufted carpets and weaved cushions that makes it possible for the user to create their personal space but also to be a part of the joint activities. The carpets have a softness that invites the user to lay down and hang out, while the cushions can be used as a back rest against a wall but can also be placed on top of each other as a stool. The scapes, colors and materials are inspired by the Danish baroque style of the building, to show the beauty in the old building.
